I’m giving this game a 3/5 because overall it’s okay, but there are a few major, major problems that make the game much less enjoyable in my opinion. The first is that the bartenders will give you quest that are too difficult to complete. Seeing as that the whole point of the bartenders giving you quest is to help you practice, and make your creatures stronger, I find it pretty ridiculous. The second is the exit points in the dungeons. If you haven’t found an exit point in a dungeon, and all your creatures are defeated, you have no other choice but to forfeit all the rewards you’ve found in the dungeon so far, and exit with nothing but wasted time. The third is that some items needed to evolve your creatures will only be available in dungeons above your skill level. Your creatures’ levels cap about every 10 or 20 levels, so if your creatures have reached their level cap and still aren’t strong enough to get the required materials, you’re pretty much stuck doing the quests the bartenders give you, which like I said before, are sometimes too difficult to complete. I’m happy that the developers allowed people to play a demo before buying the full version of the game. I also enjoy the evolution of creatures as they get stronger. It makes me want to keep playing to see what they’ll evolve into. Despite the things I enjoy about the game, the things I don’t like, make so much less enjoyable in my opinion.
  • Great game!!!

If you are a fan of the Darkest Dungeon you will love this game from the start. This game has a very similar art & fighting style, though simplified in comparison, make it very easy to pick up on. It’s early access so game play is a little limited with only the first chapter available to those willing to support the developers. It’s 2.99 for the full access but it’s got all the potential of being just as good if not better than Darkest Dungeon which is $20. I love the game; developers keep doing you. I enjoy the Frankenstein spin your going with a true horror story fan will appreciate the throw back but no spoilers for anyone out there. All I ask from the community is don’t knock it before you try it. If your satisfied with the game support the developers so they can continue to make games that we can all love.
  • Great game... needs more content

    By Darth Tigger (Pcmac user)

This is a great game, all around. Interesting art, strong core game loop, beginning of a compelling story. I want to emphasize “beginning”. While the game is fun, it runs out of story/things to do pretty quick. I started playing a year ago when the game first came out and finished it in a couple of weeks. I was hungry for more, and the devs promised more in several places in the game. But there’s never been a major story update since the original release. It’s with a heavy heart I’m now deleting the game. I’ve played it through twice, but replay just isn’t that appealing- it’s not that kind of game. And that icon on my desktop is a daily reminder of what I’m not getting. To new players: it’s a fun game, totally worth it. Just don’t hold out hope for more. What’s there is all there’s going to be, it seems. To the devs: I understand the limits of a small Indy team. For whatever it’s worth, if you do decide to do a content update I guarantee I’ll buy it. In fact, I think your game is strong enough to justify f2p mechanics, if you ever decided to add them to create a more steady revenue stream. Until then, I need to say goodbye. But if you do update, I promise I’ll be back!
  • Needs a few minor tweaks

    By Nathan Jewels (Pcmac user)

1)STORY- The story is a bit bland/unoriginal (though still better than twilight) 2)STORE- I wish I could sell evolving materials at the store and also exchange silver for aether points at a fixed exchange rate. 3)COMBAT- Let it be on a turn basis instead of having the power attack cooldown be based on time in seconds. this would also mean that the enemy no longer attacks at the same time as my units while also making the speed stat be a bit more useful because it would determine when they attack.
