Poor service on board

This app seemed great but a day or two before sailing, I had problems accessing it. Every time I opened the app it would say let’s find/link your cruise, Id enter my info and I’d get “sorry we’ve hit a snag” message. On board they told me to delete the app and reinstall. But then the app would not download on the ships WiFi. I was able to finish install at ship’s next port. However I was continuously asked to link my cruise/log in (sometimes this went smoothly, other times it did not) through out the trip so I just stopped using it. We were a party of 10 and all of us had various problems such as these. We basically did not use the app. Also my husband and I were able to get the messaging feature working but there is no notification of communication while not in the app, so it is pointless. I wonder if this is a ploy to get you to purchase a WiFi package (which we did, but we still did not use the app). Disappointed.
Extremely pleased first timer on Celebrity

Everyone has been most accommodating. Food in dining room and buffet has been very good! Do NOT like the idea of paying extra for specialty dining!?! I believe everyone should get top quality food in the regular dining area. Or at least be more realistic in price of specialty dining. The music has been very good and fun to dance to. Looking forward to the rest of the cruise!!! If you want to bless my husband and I and the couple we are cruising with the Bradley’s to a free specialty dining I’ll give you my honest opinion if it’s worth the extra money. I cannot believe that a quality company like this app would allow their brand to be associated with such an amateur effort at app development. Each new version appears to roll out with absolutely no testing or IV&V. It’s buggy, crashes requiring a mobile device hard reset, falls off the ships’ internet constantly, and contains none of the functionality required for managing a fun shipboard experience. You can’t find out what’s happening right now, get the daily program, view the officers’ pictures and bios, hear their announcements, or easily get to view deck plans. Any of which could save a huge amount of time, paper and effort, key aspects for an efficiency-oriented and eco-friendly company like the app. I’ve got just four days left to check-in for my next cruise, and the app has displayed “Sorry, we’ve hit a snag, try again later”, since the last update, weeks ago. After thirty years in the business I’m prepared to offer the company some free advice. Ditch the app, find a developer skilled in mobile web development, and put out a html based product. A product with the same look and feel of your regular website. We’ll all be much happier, and the app can save big bucks, by cutting their losses on this useless piece of garbage.

The check-in portion of the app worked great. Unfortunately the other parts of the app are lacking. The calendar does not allow you to add information that you select, only the very few “events” that are preprogrammed into the itinerary. Also, communicating with family members is possible, but only if you check your phone every 15 seconds to see if someone messaged you (ie. it doesn’t notify you that you have a message). It would be nice to have the daily schedule of events available so you can see what is going on right now. After three days I deleted the app. Only carried my phone for pictures and to see the time (very few clocks on the ship) when I wanted to be somewhere “on time”.
