What is CLZ Movies?

The CLZ Movies app is a movie database app that allows users to catalog their 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD collection by scanning their barcodes. It is the only movie database app with an official IMDb data license. The app offers a free 7-day trial and costs $14.99 per year. Users can keep track of their collection and wish list, organize their movies and TV series, and edit their movie entries to add personal info. The app also offers CLZ Cloud service to share the app subscription to other mobile devices, sync the movie library between devices, view and share the movie collection online, and have an online cloud-backup of the movie organizer database. Users can view collection totals and charts in the Statistics screen and browse, sort, group, and search their movie inventory in many ways.

Software Features and Description

1. Total movies and TV series, most recent additions, charts by format, by genre, by director, by actor by IMDb rating and by release year.

2. Sort by title, year, runtime, IMDb rating, date added etc.. Group your movies into folders by format, direct, genre, year, etc... Or just use the search box top right.

I know people are going to 1 star just because there is a subscription now, while there is a subscription and it’s offered to anyone new users and previous purchasers, people who previously purchased this app lose nothing they still have access to everything the had before forever. If you want access to the few new features that you don’t then you have to pay a reasonable price for the sub, none of these new features are in any way required for app functionality. New users will have to pay the sub for full access to what you are grandfathered into and the new features. While I generally don’t like subscriptions I don’t mind them if they aren’t a money grab and the steady income is used to maintain servers/databases and constantly keep the app updated. I don’t think I need a subscription but since the app has been such a great resource for me for many many years I’m definitely going to try it for a month. Keep up the great work on this app it’s value is truly immeasurable for me.
Excellent Cataloging App

Scan your disc’s barcode (or add by an online search or add manually) and the entry pops up with all the IMDB info automatically entered plus there’s a ton of other fields to get as detailed with the info as you’d like. There’s also a notes field if you need to add info that doesn’t have a field for it. Indicate whether you’ve watched the disc or not with a tap, search by a large number of choices (not just by title—actor, year, discs you haven’t watched yet so you only look at stuff you haven’t yet watched & many others). I’ve emailed the developer a few times since I started using this app a few years ago, and he’s always been responsive and very helpful. I highly recommend this app to have full usage of your collection! We no longer have to endlessly flip through our stuff trying to figure out what to watch!
Brilliant Video Library Database

I was initially skeptical about this application. However after a couple of instant and excellent messages with the developer I am absolutely pleased with the program. The link to IMDb is the easiest way to add titles. Plus the information (and even trailers) provided for each movie is outstanding. But the silver lining is behind the scenes of the app, where you can customize pretty much anything to you liking (title sorting, custom genres, etc). I’m happy to pay for an application that WORKS and has great SUPPORT. Best of all, it syncs between your devices (iPhone, iPad) and you can see you collection on the web via their Cloud service. If you have family movies, you can easily add these too. Kudos to the authors.

I have used this app (as well as a couple other of their apps), for a couple of years now. I find the Movie app very helpful to keep track of movies and TV shows that I own (both digitally and on DVD/Bluray), as well as Movies and TV series that I stream. The developers are very receptive to suggestions and have made many improvements since my original purchase. The database is fairly complete, although there is an occasional item missing. I find the developers very receptive to email and always get a reply within a day or two. If it is a database issue, they always resolve it promptly. There is also a submission form to submit missing or incorrect items if you prefer.
