How to download and install Dropbox on your PC and Mac

If you want to install and use the Dropbox app on your PC or Mac, you will need to download and install a Desktop App emulator for your computer. We have worked diligently to help you understand how to use Dropbox for your computer in 4 simple steps below:

Step 1: Download an Android emulator for PC and Mac

Ok. First things first. If you want to use the application on your computer, first visit the Mac store or Windows AppStore and search for either the Bluestacks app or the Nox App . Most of the tutorials on the web recommends the Bluestacks app and I might be tempted to recommend it too, because you are more likely to easily find solutions online if you have trouble using the Bluestacks application on your computer. You can download the Bluestacks Pc or Mac software here

Step 2: Install the emulator on your PC or Mac

Now that you have downloaded the emulator of your choice, go to the Downloads folder on your computer to locate the emulator or Bluestacks application.
Once you have found it, click it to install the application or exe on your PC or Mac computer.
Now click Next to accept the license agreement.
Follow the on screen directives in order to install the application properly.
If you do the above correctly, the Emulator app will be successfully installed.

Step 3: Dropbox for PC - Windows 7/8 / 8.1 / 10

Now, open the Emulator application you have installed and look for its search bar. Once you found it, type Dropbox in the search bar and press Search. Click on Dropbox application icon. A window of Dropbox on the Play Store or the app store will open and it will display the Store in your emulator application. Now, press the Install button and like on an iPhone or Android device, your application will start downloading. Now we are all done.
You will see an icon called "All Apps".
Click on it and it will take you to a page containing all your installed applications.
You should see the Dropbox icon. Click on it and start using the application.

Step 4: Dropbox for Mac OS

Hi. Mac user!
The steps to use Dropbox for Mac are exactly like the ones for Windows OS above. All you need to do is install the Nox Application Emulator or Bluestack on your Macintosh. You can get here .

Or, existing Plus customers can upgrade to Dropbox Professional. With 3 TB (3,000GB), you can store all your stuff—from work projects to personal photos—and have space to spare. You and your clients can comment on most file types without leaving Dropbox. And you can protect your work with a watermark, add shared link controls, or rewind your account up to 180 days. Before starting a trial or completing payment, you’ll see the plan price. This amount will be charged to your iTunes account at confirmation of purchase and on renewal and will vary by plan and country. Dropbox subscriptions renew monthly or yearly, depending on your plan. Your account will charged for renewal 24 hours before the end of your current billing period. To avoid auto-renewal, turn it off in at least 24 hours before your subscription renews. You can turn off auto-renewal anytime time from your iTunes account settings. You can manage and cancel your subscriptions by going to your account settings on the App Store after purchase. Dropbox has been a 5-star app that has worked perfectly. But the latest version is a fail. The format of Word documents is glitched on my iPhone with its faint-looking font and indiscriminate bolding. Now I’ll have to try to find out how to dl the previous version.

After reading The downside of the new app I have decided NOT TO INSTALL. it’s quite obvious the Dropbox team is only in it for themselves! I wish these techies would give people a choice, I have made mine.

The change to 3 device limit is a bad decision. Especially since I only discovered it by unlinking and re-linking a device AS INSTRUCTED BY THE DROPBOX TROUBLESHOOTER TO SOLVE A PROBLEM (which did not get solved by the way) and now cannot access on my phone because it is the 4th device. Will be moving to iCloud and OneDrive as I already have extended storage available there. Too bad as I prefer DropBox functionality, as I have since it first came out. I’ve been a user, fan and proponent forever. Sorry, no more.
