ModCloth: Shop Unique Clothing for Pc

I ordered two pairs of pants from this app, they shipped fine and arrived on time. One pair fit the other did not. I decided to return the other pair and filled out their return card that asks for info as to why you returned them and how you’d like your refund. I checked the box “store credit” because I was planning to get something else from there instead. So I ship it back and two weeks goes by I hear nothing from them. I finally go on their live chat and ask if they received my return and they say “oh yes we got it last week, but it takes another 5-7 business days to process in our system”. It was frustrating to me that they didn’t at lease send an email with that info so I k ew the status of my return. Fast forward another week and I finally get an email saying they processed My return to be put back on the card of which I purchased. I was so upset because I had asked for a store credit. So now I have to wait another 5-7 business days to receive my money back on my card. I will not be ordering from them again! The whole experience was in professional and for as long as they’ve been around they should be a lot more communicative.

I’m a long time this app shopper, but the app and website developers are breaking my number one rule for a business: Don’t make it hard for me to pay you money. The MC app constantly crashes or intermittently fails to load on my iPhone, especially when I’ve scrolled pretty far down a page looking at items. This means that I have to open the app back up and then scroll for quite some time to get back to the location where I was last looking, which is frustrating and time consuming. The app and the website also no longer consistently give thorough garment measurements, which is a pretty gross omission when the majority of their sales are online. The website, however, is absolutely unusable by comparison to the app. No matter what computer I’m on, with almost every use, all or some of the appropriate thumbnail pictures of items will be replaced with all or a portion another item on the same page. When this happens, I can sometimes scroll up and down to fix the issue, but most of the time I have to refresh my browser. I don’t have this problem during my shopping experience with any other retailer. Someone at MC needs to get it together. When you don’t have many brick and mortar stores, it would stand to reason that your online game and information would be flawless, and sadly it is not the case with this app or the website, and these issues are long-standing. Due to these issues, I often find myself shopping elsewhere these days.

I’ve been shopping at this app on and off for years, but I think I have recently made my last purchase. Even on sale, the items are too expensive for the quality you receive. They’re not terrible quality—but you can get similar clothes for cheaper prices and better materials elsewhere easily. I also find the sizing across the site to be incredibly inconsistent. Even when the description states “true to size,” if you read the reviews they’re flooded with warnings that that is not actually the case. As for myself personally, I have also found that even when I sized up or down many clothes were too small or big respectively. Although the clothes are cute, they just aren’t worth the hassle of paying the slight premium nor the trips to the post office for exchanges in my opinion.

This app is only good for browsing the clothes on offer. I get logged out every time I swipe away from the app even for a second. Logging in is bizarre- I have to go to the login page, enter my details, hit “sign in,” then—with no way of knowing if my email and password were accepted, because it just stays on the login fields indefinitely—X out of the sign in page, then go back to whatever clothing I was just looking at and hope the login took. Also, I’ve never been able to order anything from the app. It claims you get 25% off your first app order, but didn’t give me a discount when I tried buying shoes. I wanted them even without the discount, so I tried to checkout, but it rejected all three of my working cards. When I switched over to the website, it let me checkout with my first card on the first try. I’m genuinely confused as to how this app is so bad. Having no app would be better than offering one that is so frustrating to use.
