What is Salams? Salams is a free Muslim marriage, friends, and networking app that helps single Muslims find their soulmate or make friends. The app started in 2015 as Minder and has since helped match 100,000 people with their spouse. Salams makes Muslim dating halal, simple, safe, and secure. The app allows users to browse profiles to learn a person’s sect, education, career, height, prayer levels, and more. Users can swipe right if they’re interested or left if they’re not. Swipes are anonymous, and users are only matched with someone if they swipe right on each other. When users match, they can start a dating chat. Salams also allows users to meet new Muslim friends and network in their area.

- Muslim Marriage: The app offers serious dating to find a marriage partner. Users can choose from a specific sect or Just Muslim and swipe, like, and match with other Muslims based on preset parameters.

- Dating Profiles: Muslim dating profiles provide a picture and information about things that matter to users. All profiles are verified by a selfie and GPS location. Users can answer what they’re here for, “Connect: for friends and dating” or “Love: for a relationship.”

- Meet New People: The app allows users to get matched to their future marriage partner and connect with Muslims that fit their preferences. Users can also make friends with other Muslims by connecting with users of the same gender.

- Privacy: Salams takes privacy very seriously and doesn't post to users' Facebook pages or share their personal information with other parties. Users can delete their Salams account at any time, and all of their user information and conversations are instantly deleted.

Deceiving app

The biggest issue with this app is you won’t match with barely anyone unless you pay the full subscription. You will notice that once you pay, the “Liked me” will show matches that liked you even though they never popped up in your match feed to begin with. So don’t waste your time downloading this then swiping right unless you are willing to pay. Even then the match rate algorithm is hacked to show your profile to only 5-10% of the people you swipe on, similar to how Tinder does it. You can always test this out with friends and see how one of your profile will never show to the other. Another issue is although this app used to be very glitchy and they did fix some of that, many messages still don’t send and you can also test this feature out with a friend. Side note, plenty of arrogant desi girls on there who have nothing to offer but their looks so just be a savage and be straight forward to them back so that they don’t get away deceiving the good guys out there.

Thanks to minder, I have been able to find my wifey! I am a brown country boy, and all around me I had all these haram country girls, I felt so helpless and thought I’d never find myself a halal bae. Well one day as I was shoveling some cow manure, I decided to go explore the App Store and see if there was any hope for me on there. I searched and searched and doggone it, I came across this here minder app. A few dozens swipes later I came across a profile that grabbed my attention. Now, initially we didn’t match, so I purchased the telegrams and slid right into her messages and told her what was up. 20 messages later I got her number and few months after that I put a ring on it. Now she’s gonna be wifey! Thank you minder, for giving this halal country boy a halal bae and not letting me end up with a girl named Cheryl

Honestly this is a great app, but I feel like sometimes people don’t take it seriously. But I think that for the people that do it’s worth taking a shot in. Tbh the guys on here are fine, sometimes they’re all hyper sexual but this doesn’t mean they’re bad dudes it’s the culture of Americans now regardless of religion. They should however be respectful and not say f boy crap right from the start. If anything I’m more flaky on this app than anyone. There’s plenty of genuine, awesome people on here whom have become my life long friends when we realized we weren’t a match. Would recommend. Put on your profile you want a serious relationship and write an actual bio if you want people to take you seriously

The app has app has a lot of potential if people were just willing to put in the effort and open themselves up. Not the developers fault but it would make it easier if the app maybe allowed you to rate people or leave feedback. Some are just there to waste time, others never respond, and the list goes on. Word of advice ladies, a text conversation won’t kill you. Don’t make yourself easy, but be easy when it comes to talking to. I promise you won’t get abducted having a conversation.
